Mosaic knitting is a fun, easy way to knit with two colors and achieve dramatic results without the stress of carrying two colors across a row. Each row of knitting is done with only one color at a time. The stitches in the second color are slipped without being knitted.
The Pressed Flowers Cowl, designed by Amy Christoffers, is worked flat. The cast on edge is joined to the bound off edge in the finishing to join in a circle.
There are 3 sizes for the cowl and it can be knit in Sport, DK, or Worsted weight yarn. The ‘Plain Stitch’ section of the pattern is used in sizes 42 and 58 only.
In this class we will cover:
Mosaic knitting worked flat.
Following a chart for mosaic knitting
Swatching for gauge in pattern
Modification to a provisional cast on (makes finishing much easier).
Option to add an i-cord edge to make the edges look neater.'
Advanced Beginner Skill Level: must be able to cast on, bind off, knit, purl, and follow written directions.
Pattern: Pressed Flowers Cowl by Amy Christoffers is not included in class fee.
